Special Tribute to Ms. Yap Pak Shun

She is our former principal that had served Sung Siew Secondary School from October 1999 to her retirement in December 2004.

As a principal, she worked hard from early morning till late night. She always quoted that, “My service to the school is my service to God”, proved her dedication and care for the school.

Miss Yap Pak Shun graduated on July 1974 in The City University of London.

Below are her brief journey as a teacher and principal.

• As a teacher at SMJK Sung Siew, Sandakan.
•  11.08.1975 ~ 30.04.1981

•  As a Senior Assistant at SMJK Sung Siew, Sandakan.
•  01.05.1981 ~ 31.12.1983

•  She got promoted to be a principal at SMJK Lok Yuk, Kota Kinabalu.
•  01.01.1984 ~ 31.08.1995

• She was transferred to SMK St Mary, Sandakan.
•  01.09.1995 ~ 04.10.1999

•  After Mr. Moo Fah Lin’s retirement, she filled in the principal’s post at SM Sung Siew, Sandakan.
•  05.10.1999 ~ December 2004

Her Excellence Achievements

•  She was awarded ‘Bintang Setia Kinabalu’ (BSK)
•  In 1997, she was awarded Outstanding Service Award
•   ‘Sekolah Harapan’ – SMK St Mary.
•  4 STARS in the STAR programme – SM Sung Siew
•  5 STARS in the STAR programme – SM Sung Siew by YB. Mr. D.E. Kamal Quadra.
•  She was awarded ‘Ahli Mangku Negara’ (AMN)
•  In 2002, she was awarded Outstanding Service Award bythe Education of Ministry
