Mr. Goh Wui Hon's Farewell

Mr. Goh Wui Hon, most of the time addressed only as Mr. Goh, was a teacher of Sung Siew Secondary School. He was recently promoted to Assistant Administrator and is now working in SMK Tiong Hua. He has taught in SMK Sung Siew for many years and contributed a lot to the school’s academic as well as co-curriculum activities.

Mr. Goh finished his Upper 6 education and sat for his STPM examination in the year 1985. Later, he continued his studies at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) and received his Ijazah Sarjana Muda Sains. He graduated with a B.A. (Hons) in the year 1990.

Mr. Goh held different posts initially before becoming a Sung Siew Secondary School teacher officially. On 1st June 1990 until 12th July 1990, he was the replacement teacher for Puan Tan Puah Eng while she was on maternity leave.

Mr. Goh was officially appointed as a teacher of Sung Siew Secondary School on 18th July 1990. His post was further confirmed on 18th July 1991, exactly a year after he was officially appointed.

In 1993, Mr. Goh was awarded the Penghargaan Guru Inovatif by the Ministry of Education Malaysia in conjunction with the State-level Teachers’ Day celebration.

On 12th December 1998, Mr. Goh received his Master of Administration. He passed his PTK on 18th December 2003. He also passed both the Kompetensi Umum and Kompetensi Khusus.

Throughout his years of teaching in Sung Siew Secondary School, Mr. Goh taught mathematics and additional mathematics which were his major subjects. He also taught computer science as his minor subject. He was the Ketua Bidang Vokasional dan Teknik.

Mr. Goh used to be the second Teacher-Advisor for the Mathematics Association. He was also the Teacher-Advisor for the Basketball Club. He had led students in a few basketball matches before.

Mr. Goh has taught in Sung Siew Secondary School for more than 16 years. On 1st January 2004, Mr. Goh was promoted to Assistant Administrator (Penolong Kanan Pentadbiran), grade DG 44. Thus, he left Sung Siew Secondary School to start teaching in SMK Tiong Hua on 1st April 2006.

After years of hard work in Sung Siew Secondary School, Mr. Goh had played his role very well as a teacher. He was a good and dedicated teacher, very committed to his noble job. He was also very experienced and always explained everything he taught until his students understood him well. Although he was quite lenient, he commanded respect from all his students.
