Co-curricular Senior Assistant

The Co-Curricular Senior Assistant of SM Sung Siew - Ms Loo Jew Ing started her career as a teacher in SM Sung Siew in
15 October 1998. She teaches Mathematics and PJ/PK. She was promoted into the Co-Curricular Senior Assistant in the year of 2004. This is her speech for Teacher’s Day:

It is noted that SM Sung Siew has done very well in co-curricular activities. I would like to express my sincere thanks to all the teachers, students, staff members and parents for their commitments and supports in co-curricular activities at school, district, state, East Malaysian Zone and national levels.

The school has ten uniform groups, eighteen sport clubs, ten academic association and eight non-academic clubs for the students to join. Each student has to choose one uniform group, one sport club and one academic association or non-academic club.

These are the part of the co-curricular results achieved by the students:

For my point of view, apart from the co-curricular achievements, I hope that all the students put their efforts and initiatives in taking part in various co-curricular activities. This is the main reason our school fixed every Thursday afternoon as co-curricular day so that the teachers and students can stay back for activities arranged by all the clubs and associations.

Students who are active in their co-curricular activities are more responsible and they can keep themselves away from the undesirable social influences. We emphasis and appreciate the responsibility, cooperation and teamwork displayed during the co-curricular activities.
